To start off our project, we began be choosing an era. I chose the 1930s, because I really like everything to do with the 30s, and one of my favourite books, To Kill A Mockingbird was set in this era. I like the fashion from this era also, and there were some interesting events, such as the dustbowl, and the segregation. I briefly studied all areas of the 1930s, including fashion, transport, music and film and advertisement. I decided to use watercolour in all of my studies because it is only a brief overlook of the era, so I didn't want to include too many things and my sheet appear crowded.
I also made a 1930s Pinterest board, Pinterest being something I have used before, so I found it easy to navigate around the site. Using Pinterest helped me to find more accurate information about the 1930s rather than on Google, as it had original prints of articles and posters.
Overall I am pleased with the era I chose, and think there is plenty of topics to research for my final bunting.
